On the water & in town
Easy ways to see Kinsale from a different angle.
On foot
The coast around Kinsale is best seen on foot. All of these are gentle and leisurely.
40 minutes – 1 hourFollow the waterfront out of town towards the Spaniard, then continue along the water's edge through Scilly. At the end, carry on to Summercove for The Bulman and Charles Fort, or take the high road back into town.
About 1 hourFrom Charles Fort, cross the little bridge by the boatyard and follow the beach and coastal path, keeping right, until you reach the mouth of Kinsale Harbour.
About 1 hourCross the bridge over the Bandon river and follow the shore to Dock Beach, then climb to the star-shaped ruins of James Fort for views back across the harbour.
